Our Commitment to Equitable Care

CRM Earns the FertilityEquity Clinic Completion Badge

Fertility care is something that should be personal, respectful, and highly supportive, and that also means it needs to take into account every patient’s unique background, experience, and story. When you’re going through something that is as important as building your family, you deserve a level of care that truly sees and understands you.

At the Center for Reproductive Medicine, this is exactly what we place our focus on, every single day. We’re proud to be known as an inclusive fertility clinic that families across Minnesota can count on, and we’ve created an approach that’s focused on listening, understanding, and providing a level of care that feels right for you and your needs. We’re always working hard to grow and improve how we can support every individual and every family that steps through our doors.

That’s why we’re excited to share that we’ve just earned the FertilityEquity Clinic Completion Badge! This recognition means that at least 70% of our physicians have completed specialized training that is specifically focused on culturally competent fertility care. This is training that helps us better understand and support patients from all backgrounds and walks of life.

For us, this goes beyond simply earning a badge – it’s all about what that badge represents. It shows that we’re continuing to learn, continuing to listen, and continuing to ensure that our care is always focused on the real experiences of the patients that we see on a daily basis. It’s just one more way that we’re making sure that the level of care you receive here is a direct reflection of who you are and what you need.

Understanding What the FertilityEquity Training Represents

The FertilityEquity e-learning modules were developed by the Morehouse School of Medicine, with support from Ferring Pharmaceuticals, and they’re designed to help fertility specialists like us provide more equitable fertility care. This training focuses on real experiences, real barriers, and the real ways that our level of care can improve when we truly understand the people that we’re serving.

One of the most important parts of this training is that it highlights all of the very real challenges that exist in fertility care today. For example, Black women often spend more time trying to conceive, and they also face more barriers when it comes to accessing proper fertility care. This includes things like difficulty finding providers who feel like the right fit and challenges in getting appointments when they’re needed. These are real issues that cause fertility care disparities, and they directly impact how and when people get the support that they need most.

What this training does is help us take a step back, slow down and really look at all of these challenges. It helps us understand that cultural, social, and systemic factors all play a very important role in someone’s fertility journey, and when we have a better understanding of these factors, we’re able to offer fertility care that is more culturally focused and that feels more personal, more respectful, and more supportive for each and every one of our patients.

Addressing The Unique Fertility Challenges in the Black Community

We know that every fertility journey is different, and that means that your background and your story all play a very unique role in shaping your experience. There isn’t one single path that looks the same for everyone, and there isn’t one single way that care should be delivered. That’s something that we understand at The Center for Reproductive Medicine.

For many Black individuals and families, this journey can come with some added challenges. This can be seen in delays in getting care, difficulty accessing the right support, and even feeling like there isn’t enough representation in the spaces where fertility care is being provided. These experiences are felt by many in the Minnesota community, and they can make an already emotional process feel even more overwhelming.

We believe that your care should feel safe, supportive, and understanding from the very beginning. That’s why communication matters so much. It’s not just about our level of medical knowledge, it’s also about how we talk with you, how we listen to you, how we connect with your story, and how we make sure that you feel heard and respected every step of the way. Trust is built through those moments, and that trust is a big part of what makes the care you experience feel right.

At our clinic, we take a listening-first approach. That means that we start by getting to know you, all of your concerns, your goals, and the things that matters most to you. From there, we build a personalized care plan that is based around your specific needs and situation. And, we’re always working hard to create an environment that feels welcoming, respectful, and comfortable, because we know that those things truly matter and make a difference when you’re going through fertility care.

Our Commitment to You

The training that we’ve undergone by receiving the FertilityEquity Clinic Completion Badge is helping to strengthen how we show up for you every day. It has given our team a deeper understanding of your concerns and struggles, it has provided us with stronger communication, and it is allowing us to provide a higher level of care that accurately reflects your unique, individual experience. It’s shaping how we listen, how we guide you, and how we support you every step of the way.

Our goal at The Center for Reproductive Medicine is to continue to build on this foundation, ensuring that we stay focused on creating a space where you always feel respected, fully understood, and confident in the care that you receive.

You deserve that level of support, and it is our commitment to make sure that you receive nothing less.
