About Bailey

What made you decide to become a Fertility Nurse? Tell us about your path to CRM.

I was a labor and delivery/postpartum nurse, and honestly, I loved every second of helping IVF moms bring their babies into the world. As part of the high-risk team, I cared for these patients through it all—labor, postpartum, NSTs, antepartum—and over time, I built real connections with so many of them. One day, one of my long-term patients looked at me and said, “You should be a fertility nurse.” Shortly after, I accepted my first fertility nurse position in San Francisco, and the rest was history.

After relocating back to the Midwest, I met someone who had recently gotten pregnant through an IUI at CRM. We got to talking, I looked up the clinic, loved everything I saw, and applied the next day.

What’s the best part of your job? Most rewarding aspects.

As a biracial woman, representation in healthcare is something I care deeply about. Growing up, I rarely saw people who looked like me in medical settings. So now, being that face for someone else really means a lot to me and is rewarding. I want my patients to feel seen, heard, and understood especially in a space as vulnerable as fertility care.

Fertility journeys are rarely quick or easy. It takes real commitment—from the patients and from us as nurses. We build strong relationships, we advocate, we support, and we hope right alongside them. So when a patient finally gets the call they’ve been waiting and fighting for—it’s emotional for us, too. We’re fully invested, and celebrating those moments with them is one of the best parts of the job.

Tell us about life outside of work, family, hobbies, pets, anything you’re comfortable sharing.

Lake Tahoe is my happy place, and I try to get out there whenever I can. I’m all about hiking (phone off, always) and soaking up the outdoors. Off the trail, you’ll usually find me with my Shih Tzu, Ace, or somewhere in the tennis world—playing it, watching it, coaching it. It’s a big part of my life. I love binge watching documentaries, stand-up comedy, and can easily lose hours on Pinterest manifesting my dream life. Very few things make my morning more than an iced lavender latte. I received my bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Michigan and I’m a proud alumni, Go Blue!
